On the November 20th Launch
I have some bad news regarding our November 20th launch — every design in the November 20th launch will be delayed shipping. While everything is currently in the warehouse, all launch items are still in the queue to be checked in. Due to extremely high holiday volume this is taking much longer than normal, but all orders should ship to you by December 12th! This will still make it in time for Christmas for those of you that ordered for holiday gifts.
So what happened?
As you already know, US customs has been in disarray for most of this year. A combination of tariff changes without a system in place to manage it, understaffing, and the constantly growing e-commerce industry has placed a huge strain on the system. In the past we were able to reliably schedule a launch date when our order left the factory in Turkey (in this case, November 7th), but this year we've had to wait until we received an email from customs letting us know our shipment has been processed.
Our shipment was processed in time, and so we scheduled our November 20th launch. Unfortunately we didn't plan for our shipment to then sit in that state for over a week as that's never happened before; it only made it to our warehouse on Tuesday, December 2nd.
Our warehouse is well-staffed, but they're still hustling between every company's holiday sales as well as other shipments that need to be checked in. We're in the queue, but it will take some time.
What are we doing to prevent this in the future?
It will take some time because we're on a very tight budget and orders through January have already been placed, but we're adjusting our order timeline so we can receive product drops a month in advance. Not only will this prevent shipping delays, it will also allow us to schedule drops with more reliability (we usually try to get the second Thursday of the month, but we haven't always been able to meet that this year!).
